Statistics show that the women in the computer technology
field have been dropping for the last couple of decades. Harvard is trying to
close the gap between men and women by introducing powerful women in the
technology world to young women. Women are quickly realizing that the rights
between men and women are still not equal especially in the technical world.
Stated on Harvard Gazette, “’ When I was growing up, I thought the gender war
was over and women had won. But it’s still not over,’ said Amy Yin’ 14,
co-founder of Harvard Women in Computer Science,” (Chuck Leddy) .

Erin, as a woman, I really enjoyed reading this post because it showed that women can still have powerful positions in the technological fields. Before reading this post, I was unaware of the fact that there are women in this particular field. Based on previous knowledge, I was under the impression that men were the only gender present in this field, and that there were no women at all. Again, I appreciate this post because it points out what women have been able to accomplish in the technological field as of today. Very well done!
ReplyDeleteErin, I really enjoyed this post. I appreciate how you took time to recognize these women for their accomplishments in a male-dominant career field. Like Sarah, I had no idea that their were these number of women in such dominant roles. It's refreshing to see powerful women in control of not only what we KNOW we have capability of doing, but what male counterparts fail to realize we can accomplish. Well-written post and I appreciate the references for further information, Claudia Smith-Brinson has taught you well! :)
